About esports
What is esports?
Competitive video gaming between players or teams — with brackets, rules, and rankings, just like traditional sports.
Why is esports a sport?
It requires training, reaction speed, teamwork, and strategy — the same qualities as classic sports, just on a different field.
Is esports officially recognized as a sport?
In many countries around the world esports is officially recognized as a sport, and in 2023 it became a medal event at the Asian Games. The International Olympic Committee is also developing the field — for example, it held the Olympic Esports Week.
Which games count as esports?
Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Fortnite, EA Sports FC, and other titles with regular tournaments and professional teams.
Is esports bad for your health?
Like any activity, it needs balance: regular breaks, warm-ups, and a reasonable amount of practice time.
What age is best to start?
Most titles are accessible from the teenage years — what matters most is the willingness to learn and play as a team.
