DEAFESG Guide
Everything you need to find your way on your own: from signing up and verification to applying for a tournament. Pick a topic or use the search — you can write to us at the very end if you did not find the answer.
Nothing found. Try another word or look at the "Help and FAQ" section — and if the answer is not there either, write to us.
Getting started
What DEAFESG is and how to get onto the site.
What DEAFESG is
DEAFESG is an esports platform for deaf and hard-of-hearing players: tournaments, teams, ratings and community in one place.
Good to know
- Tournaments in different games: you apply, you play, and the results and brackets are visible to everyone.
- Teams: build a roster, invite players and compete together.
- Rating and ranks: every player and team has points that grow with wins.
- Hub — quick friendly rooms for when you just want to play.
- News, a Telegram bot and a mobile version of the site so you never miss anything.
How to sign up
Signing up takes a minute and needs no documents — those come later, at verification.
What to do
- Click "Register" in the site header (or use the button below).
- Choose a nickname: letters, digits, hyphen and underscore, no spaces, up to 40 characters. It is your public name on the site and must be free.
- Enter your email — verification codes are sent there, and you use it to log in.
- Choose a password (at least 8 characters) and repeat it.
- Tick the agreement with the terms of use and click "Register". You will be logged in automatically.
Logging in, language and password recovery
How to log in, switch the language and what to do if you forgot your password.
What to do
- Click "Login" and enter your email and password (you log in with your email, not your nickname).
- The site language is switched in the header: RU or EN. Your choice is remembered.
- Forgot the password? On the login page click "Forgot password?" and enter the account email — a new password will be sent to it.
- Log in with the new password and, if you wish, set your own in "Settings → Security".
Good to know
- After recovery the old password stops working, and you will need to log in again on other devices.
- No email? Check the "Spam" folder and wait a few minutes. A new password cannot be requested again right away — the site tells you how long to wait.
- If you did not request the recovery, just log in with the password you received and change it: the email was sent only to your address.
The player’s path: from sign-up to the first tournament
A short route in seven steps. Each step is described in detail in its own article.
What to do
- Sign up and log in.
- Get verified: confirm your email and submit a request with a sign-language video. After a manager approves it, games, teams and tournaments open up.
- Upload a profile photo — a real photo of your face. Tournament applications are not available without an approved photo.
- Link a game account for your game in "My games".
- For team tournaments, create a team or join an existing one until the roster is full.
- Find a tournament and apply; if there is an entry fee — pay it.
- Watch your notifications and the tournament page: the schedule, the bracket and the results are there.
Profile and account
Verification, photo, game accounts, notifications.
Profile verification
A check that real people with hearing loss play on the site. It takes a few minutes; a manager makes the decision.
What to do
- Open "Settings → Verification".
- Confirm your email: click "Send code", wait for the email and enter the code. The code is valid for 10 minutes; if it did not arrive, request a new one (not again right away).
- Record a short video in sign language (in Russian Sign Language, or if you speak English — in your own sign language). Show in it: your full name, that you have a hearing impairment, your date of birth, your country and city.
- Upload the video to Google Drive, click "Share" and choose access "Anyone with the link" (role "Viewer"). Make sure the link opens without signing in.
- Fill in the form: first name, last name and city in Latin letters only, as in your passport; date of birth; country; the video link; Telegram is optional.
- Agree to the processing of personal data and click "Submit for review". The status changes to "Under review".
- Wait for the decision: you will get a notification. After approval the profile becomes "Verified".
Good to know
- The video is not uploaded to the site — the form only takes the Google Drive link.
- If the request was rejected, the reason is shown on the verification page and in the notification. Fix the data and submit again — you can do it as many times as needed.
- After the first approval 500 D is credited to your balance (once).
- Until the profile is verified, "My games", teams, tournament applications and hub rooms stay closed.
Profile photo
A real photo of your face is needed for tournament applications and opens the shop.
What to do
- Open "Settings" (the profile section).
- Choose a photo — JPG or PNG, up to 5 MB — and save.
- Wait for the moderator’s check: while the photo is under review, a reminder is shown on the home page and in the profile.
- After approval the photo appears in the profile, and tournament applications and the shop open up.
Good to know
- The photo must be yours and show your face: other people’s pictures, avatars from the internet and inappropriate images are rejected, and you will see the reason in a notification.
- For the first approved photo 100 D is credited to your balance (once).
- Rejected? Upload a different photo — you can try again.
How to link a game account
Linking is needed to take part in tournaments of a game and to get a rating and statistics.
What to do
- Open "My games" (available after verification).
- Click "Link" next to the game you need.
- Choose the account platform. Each game accepts only its own platforms — the site tells you which.
- Steam, FACEIT and Epic Games are linked only by logging in to the service itself — click the "Log in with …" button: this is how the site makes sure the account is really yours. You do not need to type the nickname.
- For Riot ID (League of Legends) enter "Name#TAG", for example Faker#RU1.
- For PSN, Xbox and Battle.net, if they are available for the game, enter the nickname by hand.
- After linking you get the game page with statistics and a starting rating (500 points, level 1).
Good to know
- Fortnite is linked only by logging in to Epic Games. Epic will ask once for permission to show the site your account name — click "Allow".
- One game account can be linked to only one profile: you cannot take someone else’s.
- For your Fortnite statistics to be visible, open in the game "Settings → Account and Privacy → Career Stats" and choose "Public".
- Linked the wrong account? Click "Unlink" and write the reason — a manager reviews the unlink request. Until there is a decision the account stays linked.
Account settings
Where to change the nickname and password, end other sessions or delete the account.
Good to know
- Profile ("Settings"): nickname, profile data, photo. The nickname can be changed once every 14 days.
- Security: change the password (the current password is required). Account deletion is here too.
- Active sessions: the list of devices you are logged in on. You can end an unfamiliar device or all sessions except the current one.
- Notifications: in the browser, in Telegram and by email — more in the next article.
Notifications and Telegram
Verification and application decisions, team invitations and news arrive on the site and, if you wish, in Telegram.
What to do
- Open "Settings → Notifications".
- Turn on the channels you need: browser notifications (allow them in the browser for this site), Telegram, email, team messages.
- To connect Telegram: click "Connect Telegram", the bot opens — click "Start".
- Copy the code shown on the page and send it to the bot. The bot answers "Linking completed successfully" and the site shows the "Connected" status.
Good to know
- The code for the bot is valid for a limited time; if it expires, a new one appears on the page.
- All notifications are collected in the bell in the site header and on the "Notifications" page.
- Through the bot you can open the site right inside Telegram — this works once the account is linked.
- Telegram can be disconnected in the same notification settings.
Friends
Add players you know so you can find them quickly.
What to do
- Open the "Friends" section.
- Enter the player’s nickname and send a request.
- When the player accepts, they appear in your list. You accept or decline incoming requests in the same place.
Teams
How to build a team, invite players and join someone else’s.
How to create a team
A team is needed for team tournaments. A verified player can create one — and becomes its captain.
What to do
- Open "My teams" and click "Create a team".
- Enter a name (up to 80 characters), and if you wish a tag (up to 10 characters) and a description.
- Choose a game: a team is created for one game and plays only its tournaments.
- Choose the visibility: "Open" (applications are accepted automatically), "By invitation" (by link only) or "Closed" (not visible in search).
- The logo (JPG or PNG up to 5 MB) can be added now or later. Click "Create a team".
Roster and team roles
How to invite players and who does what.
What to do
- Open the team, the "Roster" tab, the "Invite a player" button.
- Enter the player’s nickname and choose a role: player, substitute or coach.
- The player joins the roster right away and gets a notification (if they have team messages turned on).
- You can change a member’s role without removing them: "Settings → Roles in the roster".
- To remove a player, use the "Remove from the team" button on the "Roster" tab.
Good to know
- Captain — the team’s creator; manages the roster and applies to tournaments.
- Player — the main roster. How many players you need depends on the game (for example 5 for a 5v5 format).
- Substitute — outside the main roster; a team can have up to 2 substitutes.
- Coach — outside the roster, no limit.
How to join a team
Two ways: by an invitation link, or when the captain adds you.
What to do
- Ask the captain to send an invitation link (it is on the team’s "Settings" tab) or tell them your nickname.
- If you have a link — log in and open it: you join the team as a player.
- If the captain added you — you will see a notification, and the team appears in "My teams".
Good to know
- A verified profile is required: without verification the link sends you to the verification page.
- If the main roster has no free places, the site will tell you — ask the captain to free a place or to add you as a substitute.
Managing the team
Settings, transferring the captaincy and closing the team. Only the captain can do all this.
Good to know
- The main data — name, tag, description, visibility and logo — is changed on the "Settings" tab.
- Transfer the captaincy: "Settings → Transfer the captaincy", choose a player from the roster. You become a regular member.
- Disband the team: all members are removed, statistics and achievements are deleted. This is irreversible; the site asks for confirmation.
- The "Overview" tab shows the team rating, its place in the rating, statistics and tournament achievements.
Tournaments
How to find a tournament, apply, pay the entry fee and play.
How to find a tournament and understand its page
The catalog is open to everyone — you can browse tournaments without an account.
What to do
- Open "Tournaments" in the site header. The game filter is above the list.
- Open the card of the tournament you need: at the very top there is its status and the action button.
- Read the "Rules" tab: it has the rules, format, prizes and deadlines.
Good to know
- Statuses: "Announced" (the tournament is announced), "Live", "Finished".
- The application button shows the state: "Apply", "Applications open on …" (registration has not started yet), "Applications are closed", "Premium only", "Access: only …" (for tournaments on a country’s local server).
- Page tabs: "Applications" (who takes part), "Group stage", "Swiss bracket", "Playoffs", "Battle Royale", "Matches", "Top players", "Chat" — the set depends on the tournament format.
- The "Tournament activity" section (in the profile menu) collects your applications and upcoming matches in one place.
How to apply for a tournament
The application is submitted by the player (in solo tournaments) or by the team captain.
What to do
- Check that the conditions below are met: otherwise the site will not let you send the application and will explain what is missing.
- Open the tournament and click "Apply".
- For a team tournament choose your team (you must be its captain).
- Tick the agreement with the rules, pay the entry fee if needed (see the article "How to pay the entry fee") and send the application.
- The status appears on the page: "Application: pending", then "Application accepted ✓" or "Application rejected". A rejected application can be submitted again.
Good to know
- The profile is verified (verification is passed).
- The profile photo is uploaded and approved.
- A game account for the tournament’s game is linked.
- For team tournaments: the team was created for this game, you are its captain, the roster is full (for example 5 players).
- For "Premium only" tournaments an active Premium subscription is needed.
- For tournaments on a country’s local server: that country must be set in your profile (for a team — for every player).
- Registration must be open: the opening and closing dates are on the tournament page.
- In "random rosters" tournaments you apply as a player, and the organizer later forms the teams from everyone who applied.
How to pay the entry fee
Many tournaments have no fee. If there is one, the payment method is shown on the tournament page.
What to do
- Payment in D: the fee is taken from your balance immediately when you apply. If there is not enough D, the application is not sent and nothing is taken.
- Payment by bank details: transfer the fee using the details from the tournament page and attach the receipt — a JPG, PNG or PDF file up to 10 MB — when you apply.
- After the transfer a manager checks the receipt and accepts or rejects the application: there is no automatic confirmation for payments by details.
Good to know
- The D balance is shown in the shop and on the Premium page; how to get D — in the article "What D is".
- Need a refund? Cancel the application or leave the tournament (see the next article).
How to cancel an application or leave a tournament
Until the tournament starts you can cancel your participation yourself.
What to do
- Open the tournament page.
- Click "Cancel application" (if the application is still under review) or "Leave tournament" (if it is already accepted) and confirm.
Good to know
- This can be done by the team captain or the player who applied.
- An entry fee paid in D is returned to the balance of whoever paid it.
- If the fee was transferred by bank details, a manager is notified and will return the money manually.
- You cannot cancel on your own if the tournament has already started, you have already been placed in a team (in random-roster tournaments) or the team is already in the bracket — then write to the organizer or to support.
"Battle Royale" tournaments (Fortnite)
Players enter custom rooms, and the results — eliminations and placements — are combined into a common table.
What to do
- Open the "Battle Royale" tab on the tournament page: matches, start times and the table are there.
- The organizer announces the room key and the region. In Fortnite open "Play → Custom Matchmaking Key", enter the key (case matters), choose the region and wait for the start.
- During the match the manager updates the table — the page refreshes itself every few seconds.
- After the match you can send a confirmation of your result: on PC a replay file (.replay), on console a photo or a screenshot of the results screen. The organizer checks it and enters the result.
Good to know
- Only participants of the tournament with an accepted application can send a result.
- The replay can be found in Fortnite: "Career → Replays".
- A result for one match can be sent a limited number of times — if it does not work, write to the organizer.
Tournament chat and tournament activity
Team captains who have applied talk in the tournament chat, and your activity is collected on one page.
Good to know
- The "Chat" tab appears on the tournament page as soon as you have applied (the application is pending or already accepted). Only the team captain can read and write in the chat — ordinary team players do not see it.
- Managers can read the chat of any tournament but cannot write in it. When the tournament finishes, the chat messages are deleted.
- All your chats can be opened from the profile menu ("Tournament chats").
- The "Tournament activity" section shows the tournaments you have applied to, the application statuses and the upcoming matches.
Rating and ranks
How points grow and what the ranks mean.
How the rating is calculated
Every player has rating points for each linked game, and every team has them too.
Good to know
- The start is 500 points (level 1). Every 100 points is a new level, up to level 10.
- Points change after rated matches: you get points for a win and lose points for a defeat. The stronger the opponent, the bigger the gain for a win.
- Not every tournament affects the rating: in some tournaments the points do not change.
- Leaderboards are in the "Ratings" section: choose a game and look at teams or players.
- Some games have extra tables of top players calculated from the game’s own public statistics.
Ranks and divisions
The rank shows your best rating across all games: eight steps from Rookie to Legend.
Good to know
- Rookie — from 500 points, Amateur — from 590, Fighter — from 710, Pro — from 860, Expert — from 1040, Master — from 1250.
- The first six ranks have three divisions each: I (the lowest), II, III. The points inside a rank are split equally between them.
- Elite — from 1490 points, no divisions.
- Legend — from 1790 points, but only for the 50 best players of the site: everyone else with such points stays Elite.
- When your rank goes up, a "Congratulations!" window appears on the site — click "Next" to continue.
- Some shop items are available only from a certain rank.
Help and FAQ
If something does not work, look here first.
The email with the code does not arrive
The email confirmation code and the new password are sent to the email set in your profile.
What to do
- Check the "Spam" and "Promotions" folders and wait a few minutes.
- Make sure the email in the profile has no typos.
- The code is valid for 10 minutes. A new one can be requested a few minutes after the previous one — the site shows how long to wait.
- Still nothing — write to us (see "How to contact us").
Verification or photo was rejected
It is not final: the reason is given, fix it and send again.
Good to know
- The reason is shown on the verification page (or in the settings if the photo was rejected) and in the notification.
- For verification, one of these is most often missing: access to the video is closed, the video is not in sign language, not all data is named in the video, or the name or city is not written in Latin letters.
- For the photo: it must show your real face, not someone else’s picture or an avatar from the internet.
- Fix the data and submit again — the number of attempts is not limited.
"My games", teams and applications do not open
These sections work only for verified profiles.
Good to know
- Until verification is passed, the site redirects you to the verification page.
- If the request has been sent, the "Under review" status means a manager will review it soon — you only need to wait for the decision.
- The shop additionally requires an approved profile photo.
I cannot link Epic Games (Fortnite)
Most often it is about the Epic account itself or the permission Epic asks you to confirm.
What to do
- If Epic asks you to confirm access to the profile, click "Log in to Epic again" on the site, enter your login and password and click "Allow" on the Epic screen.
- Open epicgames.com/account and check: the email is confirmed, a display name is set, the terms of use are accepted, two-factor protection is on.
- Return to the site and repeat the linking.
Good to know
- An Epic account that is already linked to another profile cannot be linked.
- If the error repeats, write to us and send the error text — it makes it faster to sort out.
Fortnite statistics are not shown
The site takes statistics from Epic’s public data, so it must be open.
What to do
- In Fortnite open "Settings → Account and Privacy → Career Stats".
- Choose "Public".
- Wait a few minutes: the change does not take effect immediately, then refresh the game page.
Good to know
- If the rank service is temporarily not responding, the site shows the last known rank or says the rank is unavailable — try again later.
- The rank is shown only if you played Ranked in the current season.
I cannot apply for a tournament
Go through the list: the site shows the reason in a red message.
Good to know
- Verification is not passed or still under review.
- There is no approved profile photo.
- The game account for the right game is not linked ("My games").
- The team was created for another game, you are not the captain or the roster is short of players.
- A Premium subscription or the country the tournament is limited to is required.
- The agreement with the rules is not ticked.
- Not enough D for the fee, or no receipt attached for payment by details.
- Registration has not started yet, is already closed, or you have already applied to this tournament.
I linked the wrong game account
You can unlink it through a request to a manager.
What to do
- Open "My games" and click "Unlink" for the game.
- Describe the reason — for example "linked the wrong account" — and send it for review.
- A manager reviews the request and tells you the decision. After unlinking, link the right account.
How to change the nickname
The nickname is your public name on the site.
What to do
- Open "Settings" and change the nickname in the profile.
- Save the changes.
How to delete the account
Deletion is irreversible.
What to do
- Open "Settings → Security" and find the "Account deletion" block.
- Enter your password and confirm the deletion.
Telegram does not send notifications
Check the linking and the settings.
What to do
- Open "Settings → Notifications": Telegram must have the "Connected" status.
- If it is not connected, get a new code on this page and send it to the bot.
- Make sure the "Telegram notifications" switch is on.
- Check that you have not blocked the bot in Telegram.
Good to know
- One Telegram can be linked to only one account: if the bot says it is already connected to another one, disconnect it in that account’s settings.
How to contact us
If the guide does not have the answer, write to us — we will help.
What to do
- If you are logged in: open "Support" in the profile menu and write a message. The answer comes in the same chat.
- If you cannot log in or have no account: open the "Contacts" page — it lists the ways to reach us.
